When my Husband and I decided that Thailand would be the place for us to have our wedding, we were really excited until we started wondering how on earth we were going to plan this without making things more stressful. As is the standard procedure now days, we went straight to the internet and found two options. I am still waiting for the first company to get back to me (we have been married for 3 months) and the second company was Take Us To Thailand.

From the day we contacted Anna and Natalie, they have been fabulous. I started planning our wedding 18 months in advance as I felt I needed to give all our guests enough notice. During this time we had guests change their minds and the global financial crisis which saw the poor old Australian dollar take a huge dive. Despite all this, the girls continued their support and were constantly negotiating better rates on everything as well as working with our hotel to ensure that we received the maximum benefit from our package.

As it so happens, my sister got married the weekend before us in Cape Town, so I had to drag my dress half around the world as well as any additional items we would need for the wedding. The girls ensured that they were in constant communication with the hotel in case they needed any information. We arrived the week before our day and there were meetings lined up with the hotel coordinator, who was fabulous, the photographer and the celebrant. We did a complete run through of everything right down to the table decorations. There were only minor changes needed.

Our ceremony was amazing. It poured with rain right up until 5 minutes beforehand when the sun came out, but it was 30 degrees, so rain didn’t matter. The hotel also had plan B to ensure that nothing was affected by the wet weather. The staff were unbelievable and we were treated like royalty.

We felt that as our guests were traveling all this way, we would treat them by having a couple of functions before the wedding. We had a cocktail party 2 nights’ before, a lunch the day before and a lunch after. The girls organised everything for us at the most amazing venues. This allowed our guests to see quite a bit of Koh Samui which was the island we chose. We live in Sydney and the total cost for 4 days worth of functions is what we would have paid to have just the wedding in Sydney. We also would not have been able to get married on the beach, have cocktails on our drinks list and been able to release floating lanterns after dinner.

Anna and Natalie also planned our honeymoon as we stayed in Thailand for 3 ½ weeks. As they travel to Thailand so often, they were able to recommend hotels to suit every budget, and they have inspected every property they recommend. I can honestly say, we did not want to come home. We experienced Koh Samui, Krabi, Phi Phi and Phuket.

We will return to Thailand on holiday over the next few years as it now holds a special place in my heart. I can honestly say that our experience was down to the expertise and organization of the girls’ from Take Us To Thailand. I watched the stress my sister experienced at having to do everything herself and was continually grateful that everything had already been made easy for me.

If you are choosing Thailand as your wedding destination, you cannot go wrong with choosing Take Us To Thailand as your Wedding Planners. Feel free to contact me if have any questions you would like to ask.

 Thanks and kind regards
Kirsten & Wes
