At first, the thought of getting married overseas scared me a bit; hearing horror stories of people who have organised weddings overseas, paying and everything falling apart. But as soon as I was aware of the relationships Anna and Natalie had with the resort managers in Koh Samui, I knew that it would all be ok, and it was… well, it was more than ok it was great!
Daniel and I had a pretty tight budget that we were working with for our wedding, and Natalie and Anna really worked with that and understood our circumstances with our budget and made it all work. We didn’t feel forced or obligated to go ahead with resorts or other options if we knew it wouldn’t fit within our budget. Never could we have afforded a wedding like what we had in Koh Samui if we had gotten married in Sydney. In Koh Samui we were able to have everything and more in an amazing location.
Flying to Thailand we had to deal with the stresses of flights due to the demonstrations and therefore closures of the Bangkok International Airports. Not only were Take us to Thailand ready to find a second option closer to Bangkok that we could be married at but they liaised with our resort to arrange a VIP bus to take my husband and my family to Surat Thani to catch a ferry to Koh Samui. WOW! More than I could have asked or have expected them to do.
Koh Samui is a magical place to be married and the resort had met and exceeded our expectations in all areas. As soon as we arrived from our epic 11 hour journey we were greeted by the staff of the resort with open arms, refresher towels and drink. A home away from home it was!
Working within events and being part of the organising of events is something I’m all too familiar with and I was gob-smacked at how professional, organised and on time all the staff of the resort were with our wedding. It was all executed perfectly. But not once did I feel rushed or felt as though I had to hurry up. I had enough time for my pre-ceremony photos, hair, make-up, enough time to get miked-up. All the staff were so accommodating with all our requests and made the day flawless. The 2 hour complimentary spa treatment also kicked the day off to a great start!
The reception/dinner was exactly how I had pictured it: one long table lined with flowers and candle holders, fairy lights, lanterns and soft beautiful lighting to illuminate the area. I wanted the reception to be like a family dinner, relaxed and informal, and it was absolutely perfect.
We had 20 people including ourselves present on the day, and all our family and friends have told us that it was certainly an unforgettable experience and loved every moment of it. It certainly was a perfect day and I can’t thank Anna and Natalie enough for doing such a great job.
I would recommend Anna and Natalie to anyone. And have already! That wedding is taking place in April 09! Your wedding is in safe hands with Take us to Thailand and get ready for the time of your life as this will be the most magical day of your life.
